New advertisement pattern?
The 2.0 has arrived to Slovenian space, that is in websites designs and advertisements. Web 2.0 prescribes using gradients and badges that can be either star-shaped or circular and I’ve noticed growth of such, especially in shop adverts.
Most popular and attractive to advertisers appears to be the peeling sticker. It’s been used everywhere. It’s becoming a pain in the ass; seeing those things everywhere you look. When the first advert used a sticker like this I though “Yay, 2.0 concept has come.” After a month, I can only think: “C’mon, gimme 3.0, 2.0 is not creative anymore, since it can be found on every advert.
It looks like advertisements concept art is like fashion. When some folks said the badges are cool, trendy, attractive and I don’t know what, many agreed and many started using them. Then … they became overused. And I doubt that all of the advertisers thought the badges are the best element for the advert, they just used them because they had seen them everywhere.
There are few adverts that I really, really like. And guess what. None of them use any kind of 2.0 elements. They’re original by their content, their tagline/message and not their design.
So before I fly of my handle, I’ll just post some of the most known adverts known for using such peeling stickers.
